This form is designed to help our staff help you in choosing the best match.
PAWS specializes in helping you find a perfect “MATCH.” We take time to get to know what you are looking for, your preferences, your lifestyle, and your household so that we may guide you in chooseing your new pet. Before you get started, be sure you can answer, “yes,” to these questions:
Complete the Pre-Adoption Application (located below). This form helps adoption counselors gather important information in finding your perfect match.
You might be asking, “What is the matching process?” Let us explain…
The pet matching process involves finding the perfect pet for a potential owner, based on your lifestyle, preferences, and needs. The process typically starts with filling out an application or questionnaire that asks about the your living situation, experience with pets, and other relevant information. Based on this information, we will suggest potential matches that align with your criteria.
This then allows potential adoptees to have the opportunity to meet and interact with the recommended pets to see if there is a connection.
Ultimately the goal of the pet matching process is to ensure that both the pet and the owner a good fit for each other, leading to a successful and long-lasting relationship.
Meet the family!
All members of the family or people living in the home will need ot visit and be introduced to the new pet. It is also required that all current dogs in the home have a meet and greet with the adoptable pet. Adoptions can happen both on a walk-in basis and by scheduled appointment.
Once the prior steps have been completed, you would then sign the adoption contact and pay the adoption fee for your new pet and then take them home with you.
After a week of your new pet living with you, an adoption specialist will reach out to you to see how things are going for you and your pet. If things are not going well, or if you had a change of heart, you will have the opportunity to return the pet to us and we will refund you half of your adoption fee. The pet can be returned in the first thirty (30) days and you will receive half of your adoption fee back. After the thirty (30) days, you can still return the pet back to us, but there will be no refund offered.
